A full deck of 52 cards is used for each "round" of the game played.
The first hand is dealt 6 cards and the remaining hands are dealt 4 cards until the deck is used up.
The first player dealt to is randomly chosen.
The first player dealt to goes first.
Subsequent rounds alternate which player goes first on every deal of a round.
There are 6 hands total for each player per round.
There cannot be more than 10 cards on the table at a time or the game will default to "Game Over".
Each player takes a turn at playing one of their cards onto the table.
As the players take turns, they want to match their cards in their hand with the cards on the table.
Ultimately, each player wants to capture as many cards on the table as possible during each turn.
A player cannot see their opponent's hand.
A "trail" is when a player plays a card from their hand onto the table without making a match.
For example, a player has a 4 of clubs ♣ in their hand and they play their 4 of clubs ♣ onto the table without capturing any
of the cards on the table, then this is called a "trail".
There are a few ways to manage matching cards on the table which involves "stacking", "building", "gathering", or calling "Kasino!"
If a player wants to "stack", they must select the Stack checkbox.
If a player wants to "build", they must select the Build checkbox.
If a player wants to "gather", they don't have to make a checkbox selection and can begin gathering cards on the table during their turn.
If a player wants to call "Kasino!", they have to click on the Kasino! button.
The Kasino! button can only be clicked on when it is displayed on the game screen.
A player can call Kasino! if their opponent trails a card that could have been matched with one of the cards on the table during their turn, i.e.
the opponent missed a capture.
A player must click Kasino! at the beginning of their move, or they will not be able to do so thereafter.
After clicking Kasino!, the matching cards are captured and then the player's move begins.
A "stack" is when a player plays a card from their hand onto a card or group of cards on the table of the same value.
The group of cards with the same value can only be captured by a card of the same value,
so the player who makes a stacked group must have a card of the same value in their hand to capture the stack on a subsequent turn.
The face cards (i.e., Jack, Queen, and King) cannot be stacked.
A "build" is when a player uses one of their cards in hand to make a larger valued group or gathered group of cards.
For example, a player has a 5 of hearts ♥ and a 10 of diamonds ♦ in their hand.
The table has a 5 of clubs ♣. On the player's turn, they build a 10 by placing their 5 of hearts ♥ onto the 5 of clubs ♣. The value of that group is now 10.
On the player's next turn they can take the built group of 10 with their 10 of diamonds ♦.
In order for a build to occur, the player must have a card in their hand with the same value of the build they made.
It is possible for a player to stack onto a built group of cards.
It is possible for a player to gather multiple groups of the same value and then build a group of the same value to "lock-in" a gathered build.
This means the gathered build value cannot be changed so it cannot be built onto. This introduces a strategy which prevents an opponent from increasing the value of a built group of cards owned by a player.
A player who owns a build on the table cannot trail.
A player may only maintain one particular value of a build at a time.
Continuing a build from cards on the table is not allowed, i.e. a player cannot gather onto a build and increase its value before they capture it.
If a player owns a build they must either capture a single card or gathered group of cards with a card from their hand, capture a build by matching with a card from their hand,
duplicate a build with a card from their hand, or increase a build with a card from their hand.
A build is owned by the last player to set its value. Once a player assumes ownership of a build, the "Building Rules" apply.
There are a total of 11 points possible in each deck of 52 cards.
Here are the ways to score points:
1) 10 of diamonds ♦ is 3 points.
2) 2 of spades ♠ is 2 points.
3) Each Ace is 1 point.
4) The player with the majority of cards (27 or more) gets 1 point. It is possible for a tie where each player captures 26 cards in the round.
In this case, neither player gets the 1 point, and that round is only worth 10 points.
5) The player with the majority of spades ♠ (7 or more) gets 1 point.
The gameplay continues round after round until one of the players gets 21 or more points.
In the event of a tie where both players have 21 points (or more) at the end of a round,
play will continue until one of the players has a higher score at the end of a subsequent round.
A "Royal Kasino!" is the ultimate achievement in a round of Kasino. It is claimed when a player successfully captures all 11 possible points in a single round. This means the player must collect the 10 of diamonds ♦, the 2 of spades ♠, all four Aces, the majority of cards, and the majority of spades. Achieving a Royal Kasino! is a sign of complete dominance over the board!
